The types of rail work you can expect to cover range from the following: Platform extensions, platform gauging, Asset management, station refurbishments, station improvements, embankment repairs, retaining walls, drainage, bridges, bridge deck replacements, structural repairs, footbridgesWhat can you bring to this role? A qualification in Quantity Surveying: BSc, MSc, RICSRail experience would be ideal, but we can also consider a highway, water or environmental background The key is smaller value higher turnover The ability to manage a commercial team, having done so in your current or previous role What will you be doing as MQS?Working autonomously, as the second in command to the Commercial Manager, on a day to day basis you will manage the commercial team. This is made up of a mixture of AQS, QS, SQS, managing their development and any issues they encounter. You’ll also liaise with the senior management team keeping everyone up to date on the commercial elements of the projects.
