(PHP, OOP, Laravel ,MVC, TDD, React, Vue) Leading Edtech co (Saas) managing 7 websites MUlti award winning company Circa 50 staff Perm Flexible hours and working 70% back end / 30% FE Role and Company: My client is the company behind a number of marketing leading products in the early careers space. They are seeking a smart and effective Engineer who wants a role in a team that’s building incredible web products. As the right person for this new role, you’ll have one to three years experience with a PHP framework. You should be able to show them on-line products or services that you have taken a major role in developing. Stack We primarily code in PHP 7.1, JavaScript ES6, MySQL 5.7.x, and use a number of cloud-based services. Experience with MVC frameworks (we build on Laravel 5.x) and tools like Composer are desirable. They have recently expanded their stack and some of the technologies they have introduced are Vue.js for projects that have complex UI requirements and Elasticsearch for their search engine. If you like setting yourself ambitious goals, then achieving them, then you’ll enjoy this work. A collaborative team, building on the highest standardsof their development process. The Software Engineer will internally be on their four products that are used directly by some of the world’s best known companies, including PwC, Microsoft, Citi, Bloomberg and Jaguar Land Rover. You will work with a team of engineers, comprising of three Lead Engineers, one Senior Engineer and two Front-End Engineers, managed and supported by the Engineering Director. Skills and Experience: Non-technical: Excellent understanding of the English language (both spoken and written) Ability to communicate your ideas internally within a team Ability to develop opportunities for growth and improvement Technical - essential: Demonstrate and provide examples of products you have worked on through the whole development cycle including requirements gathering, system analysis and design and various forms of testing Interest in keeping up to date with latest technical advancements Experience using PHP 7.1 Experience with MySQL, HTML and CSS Technical - desirable: Exposure to a PHP framework like Laravel, Symfony, Zend or CakePHP Git (or another VCS) Vue.js or similar JS framework Experience working in an agile environment, ideally using Jira and Confluence
