We are looking for a customer focused IT engineer to join our busy team in Sheffield. The successful candidate will have a key role in our engineering team, providing both remote and onsite support to our customers based across the UK. We are a small team and are looking for a skilled engineer, with fantastic people skills and a positive, enthusiastic attitude. Professionalism, reliability and flexibility are a must for this role. About the role: Permanent, full time position. Hours of work: Alternating shift pattern, 7.00am - 4.00pm, 8.00am - 5.00pm or 9.00am - 6.00pm. Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays. When working a Saturday, a day off in the week will be given. Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 (dependent on experience). Working as part of our engineering team, the IT Support Engineer will provide remote support to customers based around the UK. You will be responsible for supporting our customers on a day-today basis, resolving first and second line issues, configuring new hardware and software, proactively identifying issues and diagnosing faults. The role will be office based on our busy helpdesk. A typical day for our engineers could include resolving printing issues, configuring email accounts, building a new PC or server for a new installation, investigating a failed backup, investigating ongoing performance issues, as well as ensuring customers are kept informed and up-to-date. Provide an excellent service to our customers ensuring their issues are resolve in a professional, timely manner. Effectively prioritise and manage jobs on our busy helpdesk. Maintain and build good relationships with customers. Ensure jobs are logged correctly and updated clearly for customers to understand. Continued maintenance of our customers networks. Contribution to team meetings with suggestions for improvements and innovative ideas. Planning of installations. Ensuring any ongoing issues are escalated appropriately. Person Specification: We are looking for an IT Support Engineer who is customer focused, with a proven track record of delivering high quality support. The right candidate will need to be self-motivated with excellent customer service skills, and take a clear logical approach to problem solving whilst working under pressure.
