What will the role of Laboratory Manager entail? Reporting to the Production Manager and based at our state of the art Sexed Sorting Laboratory in Aldford (Chester) your main purpose will be the daily management and development of the Laboratory Supervisors, QC/QA Lead, Team Leaders and Lab Technicians including support and technical input in relation to the maintenance of machines and the processing of product. This role has full operational responsibility for the Cogent Breeding Lab. What will I need to be considered for this Laboratory Manager vacancy? Good leadership aptitudes are essential to pull the team together, ensuring they are consistently driving forward High level of competency and technical capability with laboratory equipment Ability to troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment Either experience of sperm and AI biology, or can demonstrate a biological and technical aptitude Strong data management and analysis skills, and have a mindset to continuously evaluate and improve procedures Highly organised, hardworking and flexible with working hours Confident with IT interfaces and systems Commitment to the training and development of the lab team to best operational practice Although not essential, prior experience of flow cytometry and an understanding of key s emen sorting factors would be highly advantageous. What will I receive in return? As the Laboratory Manager, you’ll be joining a successful and growing business and play a key role as part of the management team. You’ll receive a highly competitive salary and receive 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years’ service. You’ll be employed on a permanent contract, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, starting at 8:30am and finishing at 5pm. Flexibility to work extra hours is required to meet business needs.
