Overview

Consultant Ecologist - Halifax My client is an award-winning, independent Ecological and Aboriculutral Consultancy based in the North of England. They have been an established name in the industry for over 20 years and work with a range of clients providing high-quality surveys for both the public and private sectors. They operate throughout the UK provided Ecological services such as protected species surveys, habitat surveys and preliminary Ecological appraisals. They are currently looking to bring a Senior Ecologist into their team who can hit the ground running. To achieve this role, it is required that you have: At least 2 years' relevant consultancy experience; Project management experience; Good Extended Phase 1 habitat and protected species survey skills; One or more protected species survey licenses (preferably a Bat license); Strong report writing skills; Competency in common software packages such as MS Office, QGIS or similar; Membership of CIEEM or be eligible to apply. A current UK driving license and access to own vehicle. During your time at this role you will be: Organising and carrying out desk studies and field-based habitat, botanical, protected and non-native invasive species surveys. Supporting liaison with project managers and clients on the delivery of ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects; Safe delivery of protected species and habitat surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies; Performing the role of an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects; Adaptable and flexible approach to work to meet peaks in demands (as all roles are likely to involve occasional longer/and or unsociable hours and a degree of working away from home for days/ weeks at a time) My client will be offering a competitive salary depending on your level of experience, as well as bonuses such as pension schemes and health care.
