Optics and Sensors Physicist - Medical Devices - Cambridge

Newton Colmore Consulting ,
Gloucester, Gloucestershire
Job Type: Full-time

Overview

Optics and Sensors Physicist - Medical Devices - Cambridge A Medical Devices company, based in Cambridge, are currently looking for a skilled Physicist to mainly look into the development of Optics and Sensors for the Medical Devices field. You will be working alongside a number of scientists, engineers and physicists to successfully develop new medical devices that have a focus on Optics and Sensors. Although it would be ideal for you to have past medical devices exposure, it is more important that you would have worked on the successful development of Optics or Sensors technology. Your past experience, as an Optics or Sensors Physicist, could have been in industry or during a PhD. The products you will develop will rely on you to work on the hands-on development of the products, rather than theory-based physics. Due to the nature of the work, it is expected that you would hold a Physics based degree and have a few years of industry experience or PhD experience. There will be times when you will work on projects on your own, due to this you will need to be able to do "pen and paper" or "fundamental" mathematics and physics that you may have learned in your A-Levels or first year of your degree, as you will not be able to pass along this task to other people. I mention this as quite a lot of people forget how to do this as their careers develop. When successful in this role, you will be rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits package, bonus and relocation assistance (when needed). The company will also continually develop your skills to keep you up to date with the latest advancements in the Physicist world. Due to this being a rare route into Medical Devices, for someone without Medical Devices experience, I expect a lot of interest. So, if you are keen on this role please make an application as soon as you can. Newton Colmore Consulting is a specialist recruitment company within the Medical Devices, Scientific Engineering, Scientific Software, Robotics, Science, Electronics Design, New Product Design, Human Factors, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance and Field Service Engineering sectors.
