Being in the top 5 defence organisations in the UK, it is engaged in the development, delivery and support of aerospace and defence systems in the air, on land and at sea. On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Firmware Engineer for an initial six month contract based in Bournemouth. Purpose of the Role: Our Aerospace Connectivity division are looking for a Firmware Engineer to assist in the design, development, and verification of embedded products. Responsibilities will include adherence to development process, creation of requirements, development of architecture, and design and integration of modules. The development activities will range from low level research to market driven product developments As a Firmware Engineer you will be responsible for: Development of architecture to fulfil system requirements Creation of design and test requirements Firmware design and code to implement requirements Documentation of design Hardware verification What we require from the candidate: Must have skills: Firmware life-cycle development VHDL Timing closure Strong written and oral skills Nice to have skills: Digital hardware design HNC Degree level or Qualified by experience RTL design Requirements capture Verification skills IR35 Status: This role has been assessed as inside of IR35.
