Overview
Role: Graduate Structural Engineer Location: Wilmslow Salary: £26k - £29k Medium sized independent consultancy, who work on a multi-disciplinary basis in the outskirts of Manchester, are looking to appoint a Graduate Structural Engineer with 2 years experience within a general consultancy to join the small tight knitted structural team and help maintain current workload. This consultancy provides design across Structural, Civil, Environmental, Geo technical consultancy both pre and post planning of Residential, Commercial, Health, Educational and large Sporting Stadia developments. Typical services provided from this family owned consultancy are, infrastructure and pre-acquisition engineering assessments, highways, drainage, structural and civil design, statutory utilities negotiations, flood risk and transport assessments. More recently they have acquired a large multi-storey (22 storeys) apartment block in Salford which is around £25m project value, lots of local Grammar Schools structures, a hotel chain and a huge contract with Jaguar Land Rover in regard to their huge steel framing buildings. All projects in advance of £20m a piece. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil / Structural Engineering and have designed structures to BS / EU codes. In return you will be offered the opportunity to work on a variety of Building Structures and be allowed to develop through the business. Essential and desired experience: Aspire to become Chartered or Incorporated Engineer Be keen to develop into a team leading engineer and have the autonomy to run singular projects. Experience in the design and construction of building structures (ideally high rise/industrial/residential/educational or commercial structures) A sound understanding of building process, procurement, design management and stakeholder interaction thought the design and construction process. Be an ambassador for the business both internally and externally You will be involved in a variety of building structures schemes both in the North West and around the UK up to £50m and be a vital part of shaping the future of the business.
