Overview

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, pro-active individual to work as a Junior Research Technician within in vivo laboratory, based in the Leicester area. The candidate will be motivated and highly organised with an ability to work to a high standard. The successful candidate will be performing experimental procedures on client and research in vivo projects and performing duties appropriate to supporting the functioning of the in vivo laboratories such as animal welfare checks and maintaining and managing supplies of materials. Candidate Qualities: The candidates will have a minimum of NVQ, GCSE, or A-level education. A BTEC National Diploma in Animal Care (or a related area) would be advantageous, as this is equivalent to relevant work experience. The role requires the individual to have a desire to learn about all aspects of a working animal unit from husbandry to experimental procedures. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable interacting with colleagues. The junior Research Technician will be able to demonstrate accurate data recording practices and have experience using Microsoft Office software. Candidates should have a minimum of NVQ or GCSE-level education A-levels or BTEC National.
