The role; The Head of HR is a pivotal role in the organisation, participating in the Leadership Team meetings and working with the Board. The Head of HR is responsible for developing and implementing the HR strategy within the organisation working and working with the Leadership Team to create a working environment that is challenging, supportive and rewarding for all employees. Key areas of focus for the role include attracting and developing talent for the future, employee engagement, employee relations, diversity and inclusion and performance management. The Head of HR will play a key part in the transformation programme and will work with the Board and with wider Leadership team to drive performance through its people. Key elements of the role include; Contributing to the strategic development of the Port, with a key focus on developing and driving the people strategy Building leadership capability across the wider management team, driving a future focused mindset and high performance standards Continue to drive significant change across the organisation Building strong partnerships with the Trade Unions (GMB, Unite, Unison) Building capability within the HR function, developing a modern and proactive function which adds real commercial value to the business Working with the leadership team to develop robust performance management and build true accountability across all levels of the organisation Attract and retain top talent who will contribute to the future strategic growth Develop succession planning frameworks to build future leaders and enable career development The person; Candidates will be able to demonstrate the following areas of expertise; Highly experienced HR leader with a strong track record in leading and developing HR teams Exceptional leadership skills, strong influencer Experience of leading significant change and transformation programmes within a unionised environment Collaborative style, able to work well with others and bring people on the journey Values driven, will do the right thing for the future of the organisation Nigel Wright; Closing date for applications - Friday 13th March 2020 For a confidential discussion about this role, please contact Sue O'Donovan or apply online
