Overview

SALT – ABI/Neuro Rehab I am currently working on behalf of an award winning care provider that are currently seeking a Speech & Language Therapist to join their specialist care team. As a company they have Services providing a wide range of specialist residential health care services to adults with learning disabilities, autism spectrum conditions and Neurological Rehabilitation. SALT – Responsibilities To manage, with support and supervision, and prioritise a caseload of clients with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour. To use evidence based/client centred principles and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention To facilitate complex discharge packages of care and give advice and information to other disciplines and agencies. To contribute to the training and development of others when required. To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Speech and language therapy Services within a designated area/team, holding responsibility for defined projects. To formulate treatment plans in consultation with the client To carry out risk assessments relating to the client, client’s contacts and the environment formulating a plan of action To develop programmes of care, monitor, evaluate and modify treatment in order to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of intervention To address occupational performance and skill deficits enabling the client in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, education and leisure SALT – Requirements Experience in the assessment/management of communication in adults with learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge. Evidence of being able to work autonomously. Excellent organisation and communication skills.
