Overview

We are looking for a caring and positive relief support worker to join our new service in Taunton where we support individuals with a learning disability to live as independently as possible and to cover other services in Street and Chard, when necessary. You will be joining us on a relief contract where hours are offered as and when required or available. The people we support at this service enjoy a wide range of activities and they need your support to carry on doing what they enjoy. It is really important to the people we support that they maintain their relationship with their family and friends and that they are able to visit them regularly. They are looking for support staff who are friendly and approachable. The person we are looking for is someone who is able to communicate clearly and have a good sense of humour, someone who can make daily tasks fun and are willing to go out in all weather conditions. You must be willing to work flexibly as and when required as the shifts we need to cover will include mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays, however as a relief support worker you can work the shifts to suit you. The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging but is always varied and very rewarding. Duties will vary and may include providing support with cooking, cleaning, managing finances, attending health appointments, personal care or going out into the community. If you are self-motivated, can also work well as a part of a team and are looking for the flexibility that relief work can offer then we would be very interested in hearing from you.
