Supporting someone isn’t just personal care; it’s so much more. 18 Hawthorn Crescent is a specialist residential service for adults aged 18 with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD), physical disabilities and complex health needs in Worthing. Staff support individuals by creating specifically tailored support plans that promote the increase in control and independence in their lives. People are supported to identify and maintain education placements and/or employment, as well as encouraged to take part in leisure activities that can increase social skills and enrich their lives. 18 Hawthorn Crescent is a fully adapted bungalow with four bedrooms. There are multiple communal areas so people can socialise with others if they wish including a living room, dining room and a kitchen. There is a large garden for people to access, where a lot of leisure and social events take place especially in the summer. The nearby mainline stations and local bus services provide good links to London and the surrounding coastal areas. What experience do you need? You don’t need to have experience to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you. You’ll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.
