Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer - Bournemouth £35,000 - 45,000 Our client is a thriving, well-established and successful Geotechnical & Geo-environmental firm providing services to the construction, minerals and waste management sectors across southern England. Due to continued growth, an opportunity has arisen to appoint a full-time senior member of the Geoscience Team Some duties of this Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer: Client liaison and formulation of work scopes to enable the preparation of costed proposals Specifying and providing high level supervision of site investigation works, together with the development of appropriate in-situ and laboratory testing schedules Preparation and oversight of desk-study and geo-environmental/geotechnical site investigation reports, including liaison with Clients and Regulators Liaison with our laboratory staff to support the development and refinement of laboratory testing procedures and techniques Mentoring junior staff member The ideal candidate for this Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer role would have: A degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology or equivalent Significant industry experience of specifying site investigations, materials and in-situ testing schedules, interpreting results, carrying out data analysis, checking and approving reports and liaising with Clients Chartered or working towards membership of the Institute of Civil Engineers or the Geological Society The ability to communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues and clients, using verbal and written skills Experience of managing and mentoring junior staff Strong IT capabilities, including use of Office suite, HoleBASE and recognised specialist geotechnical analysis software This Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer position comes with a very attractive starting salary and package as well as the opportunity for rapid development within the company.
