Innovation Commercial Strategy Analyst

DS Smith Group Innovation are looking for a high calibre individual who can combine strategic thinking, strong analytical skills and pragmatic business sense to join the team. This key purpose of this role is to support and Business Partner the DSS Group Innovation team. Working cross functionally across Marketing, Sales, Commercial, Design, Operations and Finance. You will support the DSS Group Innovation team to develop Innovation projects, prepare the business and report on the execution of Innovation launches in market. What aspects are involved in this role? Provision of data, analysis and insight, to test & validate innovation project assumptions Development of standard business models to evaluate the financial projections on DSS innovation projects Conduct market evaluation in relation to innovation pipeline projects to support decisions on if and how we will implement innovation projects Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external audiences to present innovation business cases Business Partner with the DSS Packaging Regions to validate innovation projects and commercial assumptions Support the DSS Group Innovation team in decision making and implementation of Innovation launches Monitor implementation of projects and delivery of the business cases What we would like our candidate to have… High level of analytical skills and attention to detail (especially strong Excel modelling) and strong attention to detail (within modelling) Experience of data analytics and associated software packages Ability to extract key messages from complex data Well-organised, self-sufficient and proactive - able to prioritise many competing priorities collaborating effectively with in person and remote teams. Strong commercial acumen and an understanding of a P&L accountancy, including familiarity with typical business performance measures Knowledge and understanding of broad functional areas/ processes and their inter-relationships to support the design and execution of cross-functional programs An ability to help solve complex problems and demonstrate creative thinking Thrive in a fast-moving environment, with high tolerance for change and ability to adapt Ability to support and drive research lead projects Bachelor’s degree with business, IT or finance focus preferred Location: between Redditch/Solihull This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89799204
