Overview
Elevation Engineering and Manufacturing are looking for an ambitious, autonomous, forward-thinking CI Engineer to join a leading manufacturer in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Reporting directly into the head of Lean & Quality, this key hire for the business will be responsible for driving performance improvements across the whole sites manufacturing processes, removing non-value added activities and being a leader of change. This role is the perfect opportunity for a driven CI Engineer looking for the autonomy to further develop their career in a role combining hands on engineering and the development of a lean culture from the ground up. The CI Engineers duties and responsibilities will include: - Drive line optimisation, timings, bottleneck studies, and maintain/improve current procedures - Lead and drive a continuous improvement culture and develop this internally - Manage a portfolio of projects utilising tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standardised working, problem solving, and TPM to drive business KPI's - Improve efficiency through analysis and planning of work flow, space requirements and equipment layout - Leading and mentoring the existing workforce, to create a continuous improvement ethos - Propose and plan Kaizen Events alongside other team CI activities - Ensuring full compliance with all Health & Safety / Quality site requirements We are very keen to speak to you if you have the following skills and experience: - Proven experience identifying and implementing CI initiatives - HND, Degree or time served experience in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) - Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma techniques and the implementation of 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping or other lean manufacturing methodologies (SS Green Belt desirable) - Track record of delivering sustainable CI Projects, small to large scale - An ability to teach/coach lean methodologies across the site & team Elevation Engineering & Manufacturing is a specialist recruitment consultancy dealing with engineering, technical and operational positions in Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.
