Overview
Principal Architect (strong development background) - Leadership potential [progression opportunity to Chief Architect] - Strong Open Source, Open Standards background preferred. Excellent interpersonal, influencing and technical gravitas; presentation skills required. My Client are an established leader in their industry with blue-chip clients in their EU operation. They are on a mission to re-invent the industry with exciting new products and technology which seeks to disrupt with UX-driven data-centric digital capabilities. As an experienced tech specialist, you will have the scars, you will have built products and services, you will have overcome hurdles and tackled complex problems. You will have the expertise to suggest the best approach to finding solutions that scale and are able to help drive their products from concept to completion. Their development team is small but moves quickly, so an understanding of agile workflows and developing in an iterative process is essential. Core responsibilities (non-exhaustive) / experience expected: Engage internally across various functions and departments to collate requirements, map flows, determine and maintain optimal architecture Engage externally with customers and alliance partners, vendors to determine and implement Digital ecosystem creation, business value and TTM and other KPIs Deep hands-on expertise in detailed Cloud architecture, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, CaaS, FaaS analysis and applicability, Real-time Pub-Sub design, Streaming services, Microservices, Open/REST APIs, API management (APIgee / API Gateway / API Mgmt. / etc.), Backoffice integration (e.g. Salesforce, Office 365, financial packages, etc.) GCP (preferred) or AWS expertise required Good experience and knowledge of Identity Management and standards, Containers (Docker or Kubernetes), VMs, VPC / Vnet, Big Data solutions (Hadoop / Hortonworks / Mongo / Couchbase / Redis), and preferably Search (ElasticSearch / Lucene) Will have experience creating Reference Architecture and design blueprints in complex environments with Reference Implementation. Design, build and implement best practice overall security framework, compliance capabilities and privacy standards Expert in data-driven enterprise and exposure to omni-channel Digital platforms Be fully conversant with ISO27001, Cloud Security standards, PCI, GDPR, ICO, etc. and assimilate any other standards /compliance requirements Hands-on plan, design, cost, and optimise detailed cloud environments (instances, sizes, compute power, memory, OS, customisation, etc.) for overall business requirements A driven "finisher", quick learner, focussed but adaptable, thrives in fast-moving, challenging environments, good comms., team player but can work independently, you will be able to demonstrate an up to date portfolio of work and showcase your demonstrable skills. They are looking for individuals who are passionate and love what they do, and look to continually improve, whilst mentoring others to do the same. You will love tech as much as they do Strongly prefer at least a partial blue-chip background; ideally technology-first companies like social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google, Instagram, etc.), Digital disrupters (Deliveroo, Uber, Eventbrite, Babylon, etc.), mobile telcos., challenger banks (Monzo, Tide, Starling), etc. - with a structured and analytical (but not theoretical) approach to problem-solving. Education: STEM Bachelor's degree required (minimum; ideally from redbrick/Russell Group) Masters / MBA preferred.
