Overview

The primary objectives of the role are: Identify, develop and deliver value for money and best practice across the business in multiple sectors; responsible for strategic and ethical sourcing and delivery of significant savings. Responsible for the planning and scheduling of the production lines to manage the delivery of stock across a wide range of products to fulfil all onsite and external consumer demand. Overview: This role is responsible for the review, sourcing and price challenging of all our materials to ensure robust procedures are followed to allow cost effective and ethical purchasing; in conjunction with the buying element of the role, you will be responsible for making sure orders are delivered on time, and at minimum cost and meeting the targets for your department. To achieve your objectives, your staff management skills are critical as the achievement of your objectives is absolutely dependent upon the contribution and performance of your staff. Duties & Responsibilities: Administer the commercial aspects of contracts including supplier appraisal, tender preparation, tender assessment, negotiation, recommendation, placement, variation management, claim management and performance monitoring. Negotiate and manage contracts including quality, planning and commercial aspects. Raising of purchase orders and scheduling of delivery to bring raw materials, consumables and merchandise to site, ensuring zero stock outs. Develop a deep understanding of markets and supply chains; assist in monitoring supply market relationships, externally and internally and act as subject expert. Ensure all materials procured meet the Company's requirements of suitability for purpose, quality, safety and price and continually monitor and assess suppliers to ensure they are providing a service in accordance with their contractual obligations. To provide ongoing support to the Development, Brand and Manufacturing teams through sourcing strategies and pricing forecasts. Plan and implement the overall production and supply chain strategy. Managing HCCF delivery team to achieve KPI’s, in particular to achieve zero breakages/losses, and 100% on-time delivery, getting it right, first-time. · Produce a monthly report to the Operations Manager. · Introduce ‘continuous improvement’ activities to improve individual and team performance KPI’s, reduce costs, improve quality and improve profits. Lead and develop a continuous improvement culture within the operations team focussed on achieving World Class manufacturing. Work experience: Food & Drink industry preferred, bottling & kegging especially. Experience of conducting major contract negotiations; experience of procurement including buying and sourcing. Management responsibility. Seasonal demand / control experience in a process manufacturing environment. Able to work in a fast-paced environment and cope with high levels of change. Cider / Wine / Beer making experience HACCP / Quality System experience Quality auditing experience. Organoleptic skills/experience Health & Safety at work experience and knowledge. Strong communicator and negotiator. Excellent IT skills. Report writing and presentation skills. Education / Qualification Skills Requirements: Food / Drink / Management Qualification. Educated to degree level in appropriate discipline. Minimum 3 years’ experience with an inventory management environment. Trained Assessor – Quality Systems. Health & Safety Personal Qualities: Able to prioritise, manage deadlines and make decisions Have good problem-solving skills, calm quick clear decisions and flexible approach Self-confident, self-reliant and decisive, able to lead and motivate staff and have good communication skills Broad technical knowledge and understanding of scheduling/control problems, good with Be comfortable working under pressure Be good with figures and information technology Demonstrating a “hands-on” and “can-do” approach and leadership
