They are experiencing continual growth, expanding their team yet again and therefore in need of a professional and motivated IT Field Service Engineer to support to a variety of end users on site. Role Overview: The Senior IT Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing full life cycle infrastructure support to external clients. You will provide the highest level of technical expertise on the client site including project scope, design and delivery. Focus on the delivery of onsite service and support for the company’s client base; this relates to a diverse range of technologies, including desktop and server/storage environments, network infrastructure (routers/switches/wireless/structured cabling), and vendor specific hardware and software. Responsibilities: Provide remote and field based support at 2nd/3rd line level with high-level customer service Handling of Professional Services (new deployments and installations onsite) Communicate project plans up to Board level Design and implementation for multiple technologies, primarily: Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2008 and 2012, Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013, Administration of Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Cisco, EMC Troubleshooting of known and unknown issues related to the above technologies Network troubleshooting - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS Installation of wireless networking equipment Provide excellent verbal and written communication to end users Managing incidents to resolution and within SLA requirements & escalating incidents where necessary Monitoring and regular updating of in-house incident management system Assisting with service improvement initiatives and taking a proactive approach to increasing productivity Enhance own skills and knowledge by self-development Essential Skills & Abilities: Minimum 12 months experience working in a similar role (preferably field based) A strong understanding of network, storage and virtualization technologies Management & Design of Windows Server and Active Directory using 2012 to 2019 Server Working knowledge of Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, 8 & 10); and Microsoft Office 2010 and above Knowledge of Office 365 Knowledge of network technology including LAN’s & WAN’s, Firewalls & switches Hyper-V knowledge Remote Access Solutions Enjoy working with customers and external audience Ability to manage high pressure situations and conversations with clients Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment adapting to change quickly Excellent troubleshooting & organisational skills Process driven, ensuring company processes and procedures are adhered to Desirable: VMWare SAN technology including Nimble & EMC
