Overview

The post holder will provide leadership and management for the non-academic operations and associated services of the Faculty. They will ensure the appropriate high quality support for all aspects of the Faculty's operations, liaising with central services as required. For the Faculty we have particular complexities in health and safety, technical support and equipment for our laboratory and health simulation activities; We require the post holder to have some previous experience in such areas of activity. Main Duties and Responsibilities Assists the Academic Dean and Faculty leadership in identifying and implementing the Faculty's strategic goals and policies. Produces reports, business cases, presentations and other data, information and evidence as required. Provides project management support and leadership to the Faculty Leadership Team on Faculty projects. Working across Faculties to embed professional service standards, which are consistent and encourage the application of best practice to enable all staff to contribute to the delivery of high-quality services. Oversees the management of budgets in area of responsibility, ensuring appropriate robust planning, control and monitoring and compliance. Works with the Faculty Leadership Team and Faculty Accountant to develop business cases for new capital/procurement investments. Liaises with external companies, service providers, funding bodies and institutions. Manages and develops the Operational Management team in liaison with colleagues in the People Team as needed in ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of all associated services (incl. Workload monitoring, recruitment development and performance review, training needs analysis, induction, welfare etc.). Oversees the management of health and safety matters in the Faculty. Working with the relevant teams /staff, oversees the operational (technical, infrastructural and logistical) support for the Faculty's external events. PERSON SPECIFICATION Demonstrable a minimum of 2 years relevant experience at senior management level in a higher Education Sector. Qualifications in project management. Preparing management reports and statistics, researching projects, developing and defending business cases Managing and controlling complex budgets together with a clear understanding of financial management procedures and a high degree of financial awareness. Contract and/or Service Level Agreement Management Highly developed knowledge of the principles, theory and practice of FM and associated operational management experience of these. Well-developed understanding and knowledge of Health and Safety and the implications of non-compliance Significant experience of staff management with the ability to coach, motivate and manage the performance of staff.
