Overview

Our client is a major manufacturer of an extensive range of paints, finishes, coatings, inks, adhesives and allied products for an international customer base. Due to their continued success, the R & D team is expanding and a newly created role developing and improving existing products for the paints, coatings and finishes range has arisen. Laboratory based, the role will be varied and encompass a range of responsibilities including the research and development of new paints, coatings and finishes and the continued improvement of existing products. On occasion there will be customer visits to provide technical support and introduce new product ranges within the UK. Mentoring and training of junior staff and ensuring the transfer of new products into production are aspects of this wide-ranging role. Candidate Profile Experience in the development and formulation of paints and coatings ( Alkyd, Epoxy, Polyurethane systems) is essential. Degree not essential but a minimum of HNC Chemistry or equivalent Able to work independently and manage own projects, keeping time and budget restraints. Confident communicator, proven skills in technical presentation would be advantageous ideally with experience in paint application methods. Supervisory experience would be of benefit particularly with mentoring and training junior staff. Must be fluent in written and spoken English. Must have the right to work in the UK.
