Graveney is an oversubscribed, co-educational school designated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted in May 2015. English is an extremely successful and popular subject at Graveney. Key Stage 4 results in June 2019 were 92% grades 9 -4 in Language and 96% in Literature. Key Stage 5 results are also well above the national average and there are currently 220 students studying English Literature at A/AS Level. The Department employs a range of dynamic teaching styles and is committed to innovative curriculum development. You will have the opportunity to teach across the age and ability range at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Drama is a dynamic and innovative Department taught partly at KS3 with aivd uptake at GCSE and AS/A Level. Result at Key Stage Four in 2019 were 100%9-4 and 100% A-C at Key Stage 5. There is a strong ethos of creative arts at Graveney, with plenty of opportunities for extracurricular clubs, trips and performances. For the right candidate there will be the opportunity to teach also teach Drama across the age and ability range at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Our standard loading factor is 22/26. Where a teacher’s timetable comprises less than 22 teaching periods postholders will be required to cover other classes.
