Location: Various, subject to Cruise destination Salary: £7,300 per month (pro rata) Description: We have the opportunity of a lifetime for a skilled Doctor to practice medicine whilst travelling the world by sea As a Shipboard Doctor you will be responsible for the preventative health and wellness of both passengers and crew members, meaning that you play an important role in ensuring that customer service standards are continually upheld whilst aboard. You will have the opportunity to work within a modern, well-equipped shipboard medical centre as part of a skilled medical team of nurses, paramedics and a Senior Doctor. This is a dynamic and versatile role that will require a range of clinical practices such as; diagnoses, treatment plans, laboratory tests, evidence-based assessments and X-rays. Whilst on board you will interact with a diverse group of passengers, crew and medical staff, many Shipboard Doctors go on to make lifelong friendships. This position allows you to visit an array of beautiful countries such as Australia, The Orient, Hawaii and many more Working as part of an onboard community is both rewarding and provides job satisfaction in a wonderful setting. Assignments are over four-month period onboard followed by two months off-duty. Person Specification: To succeed as a Shipboard Doctor , you must have the following: MBChB, MBBCh (or equivalent) medical degree, with 3 years post-graduation experience; Current unrestricted license to practice, granted by a governmental regulatory body (UK GMC); Currently working in a clinical setting, i.e. not research or administration; Current ACLS/ALS certificate or willing to attain; required during whole employment time Majority of clinical experience in one or more of the following areas: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Critical Care/Intensive Care, Cardiology, Anaesthetics, Remote medicine Benefits: Onboard meals, uniforms (except footwear), accommodation and utilities (except phone calls and internet), travels and temporary accommodation to join and leave the vessel are provided.
