Overview
In response to the unprecedented events we are currently experiencing due to the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, at this time we will be conducting our interviews via telephone or video calls. FULL TIME NIGHT SUPPORT WORKERS - Wendover house, Aylesbury. Heathcotes Group are currently seeking Support Workers for our specialist residential service within Aylesbury. We have 6 residents with varying needs: including mental health, autism, learning disabilities, epilepsy and complex health conditions. we have 2 non-verbal adults who use pictorial references. There are some challenging behaviours. We provide and support with personal care and cooking, going out into the community and all areas of daily living. The role would include supporting these individuals in a person-centred way to meet their daily goals, supporting with health appointment and maintaining dignity and respect. Ensuring the home is clean and all documentation is up to date, including administrating medication. The Role of a Support Worker: Encourage individuals to live a life that makes sense to them. Provide emotional support and encouragement where and when it is needed. Always using a person-centered approach. Monitoring & reporting changes in health, behaviour and needs to relevant professionals. Ensuring the home is organised according to the needs of the service users and that safety measures are in place, you may also be expected to assist with housework, shopping, laundry. Transporting individuals or escorting to medical or other appointments and social activities. Supporting those who need it with budgeting and money management. Requirements: A compassionate and friendly can-do attitude. A willingness to work some evenings, weekends & bank holidays. Drivers preferred but not essential. Shift Pattern: Shifts are planned in advance and will include work every other weekend. Shifts are usually 10/12 hours, but this will be discussed in detail at interview stage by the managers who complete the working rota. What we offer in return: Pay rate is between £8.45-£9.15 per hour dependant on qualifications/experience. Paid holidays & Paid enhanced DBS check.
