Overview

Transport Controller Polypipe, a FTSE 250 company, is a leading manufacturer of plastic piping systems for the residential, commercial, civils and infrastructure sectors. Our Aylesford, Kent site is currently looking for a Transport Controller to join their team. The working hours for this position is 12:00 – 8:30 pm, with a 30 minute break, Monday to Friday i.e. 40 hours per week. As the Transport Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the entire day to day transport operation including staff training & disciplinary procedures. Ensuring all road transport legislation is complied with including vehicle maintenance, tachographs and maintaining fleet records and undertake investigative work into infringements, accidents and H&S breaches. Maintain transport office point of contact and liaise with all departments to solve any queries that may arise & monitor timely delivery of customer orders. Ensure maximum fleet utilisation through planning loads for dedicated fleet, carriers & subcontractors where necessary to ensure KPI’s are maintained. Creating planned loads on warehousing system to ensure all required orders are shipped to due date. To undertake any additional duties as required.
