Manufacturing - Burnley - Financial Controller. The Company Overview: Based on the outskirts of Burnley this highly respected manufacturing business is seeking a talented Financial Controller due to retirement of a long-standing employee. The role will be an integral part of the management team and as no.1 in finance will provide exposure across all departments. Reporting into the parent company based in the US the business has an enviable reputation for a quality product. The Financial Controller will work closely with the UK MD who has a drive and ambition to grow the business further. Your New Role As Financial Controller: As Financial Controller you shall be number one in finance on site. With exposure throughout the organisation you shall be responsible for the production of accounts across the manufacturing site. Hands-on in approach and technically astute you shall be responsible for all financial reporting and the production of accounts to report to group. Roles and responsibilities: Oversee all company accounts Cash flow management Monthly reporting to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts Assisting Senior Management in the presentation of financials to board Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems, process and procedures Ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported First point of contact for internal and external audit personnel Maintain compliance with government financial regulations and legislation Work with external tax accountants on preparation of tax provision and annual tax returns Review and production of budgets and financial plans Regularly look for cost reduction opportunities Supervision of juniors in finance including Part Qualified Management/Cost accountants Motivate and lead finance team members The Experience & Qualifications Required: You shall be an experienced finance lead who has either held a similar role in the past or looking to progress after experience as a business partner in a fast paced manufacturing environment. With either a Degree in accounting, a formal qualification or Qualified By Experience you shall have several years of experience in a finance environment. Technically sound and able to manage/develop staff you shall have management experience. You shall have an understanding of UK GAAP and also have exposure to effective cost accounting. Manufacturing experience is preferred however Candidates who have operated in a fast paced service environment will be considered.
