Food Safety & Compliance Manager - Catering & Retail Leading Large-Scale Events Venue This role will be based from a stunning London office location Salary: £33,000 - £38,000 Bonus Incredible organisation superb company benefits and rewards schemes Our client is a leading events venue who host over 400 events per year and are currently looking to recruit a highly experienced Food Safety & Compliance Manager who will have operational responsibility for ensuring that all retail units, kitchens and commercial partnerships across the venue are food safety and legislatively compliant. They will act as a key knowledge holder/provider to all stakeholders across the venue and will ensure that immediate actions are taken where non-compliance issues arise. This would really suit someone with strong knowledge of Food safety laws and compliance requirements with a background in food safety and hygiene audits. Key Responsibilities 1. Venue Food Safety Compliance Work with all food and beverage partners to ensure they meet legislative and food safety compliance and be the main point of contact for all food safety matters. Ensure required standards of safety, security, cleanliness, service delivery and presentation standards are maintained. Ensure that quality control and reporting systems are in place. Conduct regular inspections and event audits across the venue. Ensure that biennial audits are carried out by external auditors and be the liaison to external auditors and caterers to implement corrective and preventatives actions as required. Oversee all venue safeguarding operations/initiatives, managing internal revisit audits and improvement programmes. 2. Event Food Safety Compliance Liaise with Event Managers and organisers regarding any food sampling activity for events. Oversee any exhibitor sampling activities and provide support and guidance. Ensure exhibitors comply with all food safety regulations. Ensure on the rare occasion that external caterers are allowed into an event, they are also compliant. 3. Crisis Management Participate in the management of crises involving products Manage the ongoing reporting of information from organisers, exhibitors, visitors and suppliers. Highlight and, where necessary, escalate risks. 4. Legislation Maintain up to date knowledge of all compliance legislation and ensure that all paperwork requirements are up to date. Keep abreast of all FSA regulations and support implementation. Proactively manage and adapt policies and procedures in accordance with HACCP/procedures/allergen information. Escalate legislation and non-compliance issues to the Head of F&B. 5. Finance & Administration Work alongside the Food & Beverage Manager to manage departmental budgets and ensure that all administration requirements are met. Person Specification Demonstrate success in developing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring and auditing food safety and quality programs. Proven competency in driving resolution /results, creative problem solving and improving food safety and quality performance consistency.
