Overview
White Label Recruitment is recruiting for one of our key manufacturing clients in Burnley, who are eager to secure a new Design Engineer for their busy and growing engineering department. Despite the current situation with Corona Virus, this role is very much so integral to their business, and although their interview process might be different from the usual This is still something the company is keen to push forward with. The successful candidate will be required to design and engineer products that cost effectively meet customer requirements from initial brief, either through modification of existing ranges or creation of new product. Specific Responsibilities • Create concepts, sketches, mock-ups, using both 2D & 3D software, designing physical models using 3d software (e.g. Inventor) • Work with other team members to contribute ideas and solutions at the design stage and incorporate these in the overall new product development process • Communicate outputs to internal customer and liaise to refine designs as required • Apply engineering knowledge of constraints to designs e.g. temperature and installation restrictions, to ensure designs are produced to customer requirements and meet all necessary manufacturing guidelines • Respond to feedback and refine designs as required by parties engaged in the appraisal of the prototype / visual / 2D-3D model, present further re-designs and ensure final refinements to the satisfaction of all parties, prior to approval for production • Create/refine manufacturing drawings as per final product specification • Generate design specification to match original brief plus any additions and contribute to collation of bill of materials, parts list, views, technical documentation / specifications, pneumatic diagrams, manufacturing instructions as required by Design Manager • Actively research emergent technologies and techniques for future use, by communicating with suppliers and reading of industry literature, • Work closely with procurement • Work with the manufacturing team to optimise design for manufacture • Attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills and work within company procedures and policies always. • Adhere to Health and Safety policy and other requirements relating to care The company is seeking a Design Engineer with experience in the following: • Project/Design Engineer with Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design / air handling systems experience to join the existing Mechanical and Electrical engineering team. • Solid experience in design for manufacture and implementing products into manufacture • Experience of using 3D & 3DCAD software (Autodesk preferable, but not essential) • IT Literate in Microsoft Office Applications The company is offering a salary of £33,500 which will be increased to £35,500 after a 3 month training/ probationary period. They also offer contributory pension, 25 days holiday, 37.5 hour working week with an early finish Friday.
