Overview

Position Overview To provide Lifeguard services to rehabilitation pool facilities. Responsibilities Tasks include but are not limited to: Assist in the day to day operations of the Swimming Pool at DMRC, as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager To ensure the safety and good conduct of all swimming pool users. Comply with the Swimming Pool Health & Safety Legislation. Comply with all legislative requirements including Normal Operating Procedures & Emergency Action Plans as laid down as part of the Pool Safety Operating Procedures. Act as first line lead in an emergency in the swimming pool areas when on shift. Report immediately to the Swimming Pool Manager any safety hazards or deficiencies likely to render any equipment/area unsafe. Report immediately to the Swimming Pool Manager any incidents that have occurred during their shift. Education of all users on safe practice and procedures. Ensure all complaints/enquires are dealt with or directed to the Swimming Pool Manager Attendance on pool side during pool usage on a roster basis. Parade poolside/changing/ancillary areas as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager Ensure correct setting up/taking down of equipment to maximise efficiency of the activity programme. Attend all Staff Training Sessions as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager Carry out cleaning duties as required on a daily basis & maintain high standard of facility presentation/customer care/cleanliness & Hygiene. Develop good communication with the key customers and other clients and colleagues. Provide cover for other members of staff during holiday/sickness periods. Work as team or individual and work a roster routine as set out by the Swimming Pool Manager Maintain an acceptable level of fitness as laid out by the RLSS. Carry out any additional tasks within their competence as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager Wear uniform whilst on shift. Accountable to the Swimming Pool Manager, who is to be the first line of contact. Comply with Interserve company polices. What we are looking for Skills/Competency Profile Good communication skills Customer Focused Respect and implement Company values Technical Knowledge and Experience/Qualification National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) Up to date records of in-house Lifeguard Training undertaken during the 2 year period of the NPLQ Certificate. First Aid at Work Certificate - Desirable Personal Qualities Good Interpersonal Skills Good Communicator Team Player Additional Information Part time position, working 17 hours per week. Work in a Lifeguard Shift Roster, as directed by the Swimming Pool Manager. MOD security clearance and Enhanced DBS will need to be achieved (Proof of Right to Work in the UK essential) Required to wear approved company work wear, including PPE when necessary Holidays to be taken within DMRC leave periods unless otherwise agreed
