Audrey is 87 years old, she has lived in on her own since her husband, Albert, died 10 years ago and has always been independent. Last year, Audrey had a fall whilst out shopping and it knocked her confidence somewhat. She stopped going out and even became scared of the stairs in her own house and would often sleep on the sofa rather than go to bed. Audrey is typical of someone you would become a Care Assistant & Companion for, she still wants to get out and about, but confidence stops her, that is where you come in. You would help her with daily routines that have become harder for her but also take her out and keep her independent and doing the things she has always done. This would be things like helping her with her morning, lunchtime, or evening routine, assisting with personal care or going shopping with her on a Friday or taking her to the hairdressers on a Wednesday. They aspire to change the face of ageing for older adults in the local community and you could be part of that Benefits & Hours £9.30 - £18.00 per hour plus 20p mileage allowance. Full and part-time hours, between 5-40 hours per week available - if you have some availability early mornings, lunchtimes, afternoons, evenings or a couple of hours on alternate weekends, then this position could be ideal for you. 28 days holiday including bank holidays (pro rata).
