Overview

Rubix Recruitment are currently seeking a Community Engagement & Skills Manager to join a Project Management team based in NW London for a large residential developer, on a fixed term contract (9-12months). The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing community, skills and volunteering programmes on behalf of our client and its contractors, to be in line with Section 106 obligations and to enhance the company’s reputation as a developer that engages with the community. Key Responsibilities: Management: Line manage the Skills Project Co-ordinator Section 106 requirements: Oversee Section 106 requirements - Pre-employment opportunities, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, Work experience and local employment opportunities. Ensure contractors are on track as per their construction employment training plans. School engagement programme: Manage school engagement programme with Brent primary and secondary schools with the aim of engaging with thousands of pupils and teachers across the year. Skills programme Work effectively with contractors at all levels manage effective community engagement framework; Manage and deliver a balanced, robust and accessible skills programme to benefit local Brent voluntary sector organisations. Sustainability programme Be the lead for community engagement strands on the sustainability panel Community fund Oversee and Chair the Senior Construction Board’s management of the London Community Foundation and contractors local community fund Volunteering programme Manage the Employee Volunteering scheme and manage external support Manage and evaluate key Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives working closely with relevant partners and agencies maintaining strong relationships and act as the main point of contact for our client's selected charities and act as a key contact internally and externally for all CSR activity Marketing and PR Work with colleagues to devise a communications programme to promote the skills programme alongside raising the internal profile of the programme. Increase employee engagement and volunteering Identify CSR awards and draft submissions in order to promote the firm's charitable and community initiatives. Using internal communication to reinforce the company’s social responsibility policies. Reaching out to the public via PR and marketing to deliver the message of the company’s commitment to social responsibility Qualifications/Experience/Skills: Community engagement, outreach experience and section 106 knowledge; Experience of working alongside London Borough of Brent would be desirable but is not a requirement; Management experience Skills / retail / apprenticeship / training experience; Proven project management experience; Exceptional people and communication skills and the ability to negotiate and balance different requirements; Strategic thinker with an ability to influence senior leaders and build relationships; Positive, can-do attitude with an enthusiasm to thrive and develop; Passion for corporate social responsibility; IT literate including Microsoft office packages.
