Overview
Foodmate UK Ltd, designs, builds, installs, commissions and supports a range of products primarily for, but not confined to, the food processing industry. The products, systems and equipment generally consist of computer/electronic hardware, software and peripheral equipment which provide customers with process control, operational efficiency and data acquisition. This position is for a software developer working with computer vision applications. The successful candidate will work to develop new products and support and improve upon existing ones. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual well educated in developing computer vision software who can help us bring new ideas to our product range and improve upon our existing products. The work is high paced and dynamic and will be both challenging and rewarding. You will be expected to prototype and design to the goals of functionality while considering ease of component re-use, connectivity, long term architecture, and schedule commitments. The position requires the ability to work well in teams and self-manage. The role is based in Huddersfield, UK with occasional international travel (particularly to the USA and The Netherlands) required to assist in product development and sales support. Due to rapid expansion, we are looking to recruit a Software Developer to join our small but fast-growing company. We are offering a competitive salary. Working from home and flexible working hours are also possible. Essential Skills/Qualifications: · Bachelor Degree · Good knowledge of computer vision software and techniques · Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact well within a team · Must be able to perform in a small team environment with minimal supervision · The ability to work well in a very dynamic, fast moving environment with high expectations Desirable Skills: · Good working knowledge of C++ and OpenCV including Machine Learning · Strong foundation in software development/engineering including software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution · Proficient analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills · Ability to work in areas outside of usual comfort zone and love to learn new technologies · Experience developing code using configuration management and issue tracking systems to track software releases and changes (e.g. JIRA, SVN, GIT) This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89687797
