Energy & Sustainability Lead

About The Role We have an exciting new opportunity for an Energy andSustainability Lead to join our existing Property team, reporting directly tothe Head of Property. In this role you’ll be the most senior SME ensuring that theSociety continues to reduce its environmental impact and carbon footprint aswell as promoting essential energy saving initiatives. The newly created role will lead the Society’s energy,carbon and sustainability agenda; develop and maintain management systems inline with requirements for accreditation; collate and analyse utility andcarbon data; and provide updates on progress towards our targets. The role willadvise senior stakeholders on environmental issues, undertake regulatoryreporting (e.g. ESOS, SECR) and ensure that environmental policies, proceduresand guidance are developed governing all activities and assets. Based at our Binley Campus in Coventry, this role willprovide accurate reporting, data analysis and insight, with your passion forthe environment and sustainability improving both the wellbeing and engagementof Society staff. This is an extremely varied role which requires strategicthinking, senior stakeholder influence and engagement, and a deep understandingof detail when required. About You Educated to degree level or with a relevant qualification inenvironmental / energy management e.g. IEMA/ IWFM, you’ll have in depthexperience working in energy and environmental management with a thoroughunderstanding of applicable legislation, report writing and implementation ofrelevant accreditation. You’ll be highly influential, skilled in managingstakeholders at all levels of the organisation and enjoy creating a vision forstakeholders, delivering this with energy, pace and gravitas. You’ll be using your data management and analysis skills,report writing and directly managing 3rd party suppliers and therefore it’sessential you can communicate complex subjects clearly to a non-technicalaudience, verbally and in writing. You‘ll be a self-starter with the ability to problem solveflexibly and pragmatically, using various strategies and skills, building,maintaining and leveraging internal and external relationships – you need to bea great communicator and be able to build an effective network and use yourexperience of delivering key projects through influencing others.
