Brief We are currently looking to recruit a 1-3 years' PQE lawyer to join the Infrastructure Projects and Concessions team, based in our Glasgow office. Background The role sits within the Infrastructure Projects & Concessions team, which in Scotland operates as a single team across our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. The team sits within the firm's Projects Group. The team carries out concessions and major projects work. The team advises on contracts to establish economic and social infrastructure based concessions and major PPP projects in the UK and internationally (particularly but not only those seeking project finance), working for public authorities and private sector sponsors and their funders and subcontractors. We also provide support to the full range of stakeholders on operational projects and advise on secondary market transactions in the infrastructure sector. We work across a wide range of industries including by way of example renewable energy, healthcare, schools, roads, sports stadia, ports, airports and energy from waste. Our team is over fifty strong in the UK, with nine lawyers in the Scottish based team forming part of and working closely with our wider projects team. Candidate Summary The successful candidate will: have gained a good range of experience of infrastructure project related work during their career to date – experience in general construction and project finance will be considered relevant where there is a genuine interest in the infrastructure sector be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment; be technically strong and exercise good commercial judgment; and have the interpersonal skills necessary for this client-facing role. The role is wide-ranging, will focus on and include: developing on-going relationships with an existing client base as well as pitching for new opportunities; developing close working relationships as part of an international team; the opportunity to be involved in work on an international level; taking an active role in our campaigns, the developments of our products and pitching for new work.
