Reporting to the Managing Director and a member of the Leadership team. You will fully be accountable to maintain and improve the quality of the product portfolio and both customer and supplier experience. The role leads a large team which includes core purchasing, strategy and development and quality delivery. The role will define and drive up KPIs to grow market share. The key drivers of success will be around the strategy and management of: • Sourcing and account managing • Partnering with the Commercial team on the product brief and negotiating these successfully • Driving forward Ad-hoc portfolio by taking responsibility for the supply partners and supply competitiveness • Accountability for the quality of the experience for customers and accountable for taking corrective action with suppliers. The role will be accountable to decide resource allocation given towards managing the customer experience which may include own staff or 3rd party suppliers • Developing a high-performance culture in the core purchasing function including a more KPI and data driven way of working and decision making • Responsible for leading the thinking on the performance analytics/MI/KPIs that drive the operating rhythm, resource allocation and success metrics of the function Key tasks and responsibilities: Leadership and development • Understands what it takes to drive a high-performance team culture and is focused on guiding and developing the team. • Responsible for the structure and resourcing of the team based on the agreed product strategy and focus areas. • Continuously questioning the status quo, always with a mind to automation and technology as a solution when appropriate. Purchasing Strategy and Business Development o Leading a team responsible for product analytics, connectivity hub suppliers and product development. In this capacity overall responsible for:  Owning the full dataset/analytics responsible to drive the team performance and measure success.  Proactively bringing on investment cases for specific long term guarantees that can be of strategic value to the business.  Drives for more business o Leads the dialogue with the commercial team on the right strategy o Development of new and existing product categories Purchasing • Supports the team with negotiation where required and personally takes responsibility for specific areas • Sets and evolves KPIs that drive the overall purchasing strategy. • Maximise sales opportunities by constantly sourcing promotions and early booking offers Quality assurance • Responsible for the quality of the portfolio overall. Develops and enforces quality improvements through a bonus/deduction approach with suppliers • Responsible for the cost and investment in quality improvement as well as supplier recovery model. Personal Specification • Educated to degree level or equivalent • Excellent and proven negotiation skills a must • Experience of developing and leading a high performing team • Naturally data driven with a passion for technology and process improvement • Very structured and organized.
