We currently have Recycler Technician vacancies in the Sheffield and Leeds areas, depending on where you live will determine the areas you will cover to join our Wastewater Customer Field Services Team in the Service Delivery Business Unit. Yorkshire Water Customer Field Services is continuing to transform our customers experience and to achieve Upper Quartile performance. For CFS this means being in the top 3 for the least pollutions and in the top 3 for the least internal flooding escapes in our customers' homes. We are investing heavily to achieve our goals, simplifying our processes and our ways of working to ensure we can fix customers problems first time or at least in the same day wherever possible. You will be required to travel to different operational sites across the region therefore; a full valid EU driving licence, a Heavy Goods Vehicle licence C and a driver DCPC is required. Ideally you will have a clean license or no more than 6 points. What will the role involve? As a Recycler Technician, you will be required to work alongside the Recycler Assistant for support but will also be required to work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and our contracted partners on site to resolve and manage operational issues on the sewer network. You will be responsible for ensuring a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment whilst ensuring quality follow on work is raised in accordance with our standards and specifications. To operate a Recycler in a safe and optimal way, to respond to reactive blockage reports from the sewer network and provide and deliver a high standard of customer interaction while dealing with all sewer related incidents. Support with blockage response times, in cases of high work volumes and wet weather events. You will also be required to collate data and information for evidence capturing. This also includes assessing photograph, plans and reporting on any escape/issues from the sewer network. Your role will require you to identify and organise any remedial works and liaise with customers and contracted partners on resolving these issues alongside recommending any third-party rechargeable works. You will ensure Health and Safety working practices & procedures are complied with at all time. When making day to day business decisions you will be required to demonstrate financial awareness and provide technical support and first line response to customer contacts to ensure a fix first time resolution & ensuring that the most cost-effective resolution is promoted. You will have a flexible attitude to your work as you will be working a variety of rotas in the role to cover our working window. Once fully trained in the role you will need to take part in an out of hour's standby rota, therefore flexibility is an essential requirement of this role. Experience/skills/training needed · A full valid EU driving licence and a Heavy Goods Vehicle licence C · Experience of driving vehicles with a liquid load · Recycler vehicle operation experience · A strong Health & Safety background · Ability to find faults and diagnose the root cause of an issue · Competent in the use of IT systems · Previous experience in a customer service related role with face to face communication with customers · The ability to be proactive and take ownership of issues, think through problems and work with others to solve them · Good interpersonal skills to liaise with operations, customers and stakeholders · Effective communication skills · Ability to develop and maintains effective internal and external relationships · A basic understanding of the sewer network · Understanding of sewerage system and network performance issues · Ideally you will have previous experience gained within the waste water What's in it for you?
