We are looking for a Conduct Risk Officer to join the Property Finance Team based in Brentwood. Reporting directly to the Division’s Head of Conduct Risk and Financial Crime, as a Conduct Risk Officer, you will support the Division in the prevention, detection and investigation of conduct risk and compliance issues affecting the Group, its customers or colleagues. You will seek to mitigate conduct risks at all stages of the customer lifecycle including those arising from product design, the sales process, recruitment and training, customer servicing, communications, complaints and customer remediation's. Responsibilities To have an excellent understanding of the Group and Division’s approach to conduct risk mitigation. Providing conduct risk guidance and input to the Division to ensure it remains compliant with regulatory requirements in the delivery of BAU and project activities. Providing oversight of the Division’s outsourced customer servicing partners and coordinating intervention activities to ensure good customer outcomes are maintained. Engaging with the Group’s second line of defence risk advisory teams on complex compliance issues to evaluate delivering the best outcome for customers. Supporting engagement with the Group’s regulators, trade bodies and consumer groups to drive best practice identification and embedding. Proactively identify opportunities to deliver improvement for the Division’s customers through the refinement of existing processes and approaches. Creating and delivering management information reports to management forums to inform conduct risk mitigation activity. Acting as an advocate for the Division’s focus on customers and provide support, coaching and training to the Division’s teams on conduct risk topics. Support the delivery of ad hoc compliance communication activities using emails, internal social media and other channels. To be flexible with responsibilities and have a positive attitude towards evolving changes to role, company/departmental objectives, priorities and targets over time. The Person Risk management experience gained within a financial services environment. Good product and sector knowledge of the broad financial services product offering. Most likely to have a risk or compliance function background or detailed knowledge and exposure to quality, risk and compliance matters Computer literate Knowledge of conduct risk compliance requirements Evidence of aptitude, logical and analytical skills A self-starter; an ability to think with initiative and deal with unexpected challenges Confident presenting to senior audiences and self-assured within the role Team player skills, i.e. comfortable working with colleagues of all grades and backgrounds Calm under pressure, adaptable and agile in approach Enthusiastic "can do" attitude, motivated and driven to develop a satisfying and rewarding career Ability to demonstrate decisiveness and sound judgment on a consistent basis An aptitude to learn/develop skills base Strong initiative and willingness to create & develop new standards and agenda for compliance within the division
