Overview

Spencer Clarke Group are working closely with Sefton MB Council to appoint a Principal Procurement Officer to their team. The role is on an agency contract for a minimum of 6 months which is highly likely to be extended on an ongoing basis. Rate of Pay - £200 - £250 per hour. Negotiable depending on experience. (Please state your desired rate upon application) Location – Bootle, L20 3NJ. Main Purpose of the role: You will represent the organisation as a progressive, proactive and responsive officer who generates procurement solutions by working collaboratively with commissioners to influence choice, prioritise change, deliver savings and process improvements while driving costs down and quality/service up. Key Responsibilities: In depth and practical experience of EU procurement legislation. Understanding of E-tendering, particularly Proactis / The Chest. In depth procurement experience and knowledge. Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to manage own workload, dealing with multiple projects at a time. Ability to work alongside the procurement manager to review current procurement procedures, monitor supplier performance and implement changes. Work collaboratively with commissioners to influence choice, prioritise change, deliver savings and process improvements while driving costs down and quality.
