Overview

We are looking for 2x Carers who have experience in caring for adults with learning disabilities and autism. You will be required to support and assist senior staff by contributing to the care, comfort and well-being of service users, ensuring that all individuals are cared for and supported with dignity, consideration and kindness. Main duties include: • Work and engage individually and collectively with service users and encourage and facilitate choice, diversity and appropriate personalised activities. • Provide personal care for people in accordance with their individual care plans and support, empathy and reassurance to service users to ensure a high standard of care. • Assist with general housekeeping e.g. laundry, cleaning, serving meals etc. • Report problems, concerns about people, accidents and incidents to senior staff. • Communicate effectively with service users, other professionals, the care team and the Manager. • Be hospitable, friendly and inclusive to all families and visitors. • As a member of the team, attend and participate in training and be prepared to undertake other tasks as directed or required to assist in the smooth running of the home. • Maintain individual's confidentiality at all times, in accordance with the company Confidentiality Policy. • Complete accurate records as appropriate and required. • Carry out any other duties consistent with the post as reasonably requested. Experience, Knowledge and Skills required • NVQ Level 2 in Care or a willingness to complete it • Preferably two years experience of working with vulnerable adults, or a caring attitude and an understanding of vulnerable adults • An understanding of Person Centred Care & Support • A team player, able to work effectively with others • Able to work to high standards as a member of team, and be accountable for your actions • Good communication skills • Customer focused, empathetic and understanding of individuals and alert their general welfare and needs • Be non-judgemental • The ability to follow instructions and directions • Energetic, cheerful and with an ability and willingness to learn new skills • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
