Reference Number: CAD-CM-ST5-YP-1703 Job Title: Chef Manager - Term Time only Location: Newcastle Upon Lyme, ST5 Pay Rate: £17,000 per year- Term Time Only Hours per week: 37.5 hours Shift Times: 07.00 - 15.30 Working days: Monday - Thursday Atalian Servest is currently looking for a Chef Manager to be based within a special education needs contract in Newcastle Upon Lyme. As Chef Manager, you will assist with overseeing the smooth running of the restaurant and the catering team onsite. Day to day duties include: Based in a prestigious Education environment, the role will be ideal for someone who is a good leader and a strong communicator. Working under the guidance of our Contract Manager and Area Manager we are looking for a Chef Manager with excellent craft skills to develop the service and help manage the catering team. Catering for students and staff members, with regular lunch-time hospitality throughout the sites. You will need to be able to consistently deliver excellent food and outstanding levels of customer service. An aptitude and keen interest in baking in this role is essential as is the ability to work to a tight budget and being able to deliver the required financial performance. Ensuring compliance for all aspects of food safety and health and safety is a must as well as the ability to manage the team under your control. As Chef Manager you will need to have the following: Ideally a background as a Chef Manager/ Catering Manager with chef skills within Education or a Business and Industry Catering unit. Previous experience within a busy kitchen environment, managing a team of 5 - this is a hands-on role with volume cooking for 150 - 200 customers. Have sound knowledge of hygiene, health & safety requirements. The qualifications required 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ equivalent. Must have good knowledge of allergens, financial control, budgets and budgeting, HACCP, COSHH, Food Safety and Food Hygiene. Have passion and enthusiasm for fresh food and great service - you must be a real ‘foodie’ with great attention to detail. Quality cooking standards using fresh seasonal ingredients whilst being conscious of the set budgets- Demonstrate knowledge of current food trends. The ability to lead by example and communicate effectively and professionally at all levels. Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgetary lines. Willingness to grow the business following the contract manager's vision. The position will require a DBS check.
