Role: Insurance Systems Tester Schedule: Monday to Friday (38.6 hours per week) Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm (1 in 4 Saturdays 9:00am – 5:30pm) Salary: £18,000.00 to £25,000.00 dependant on experience Contract: Permanent, Full Time Location: Formby, The Lighthouse We are currently recruiting a talented Insurance Systems Tester to work within our established Formby office. The Systems Tester will participate in an interactive software development model, produce test plans, execute test plans, execute usability tests and ensure that the quality of the software delivered is functioning, effective and in line with the business requirements. Working in collaboration with the Development, MI and Training departments, business leads and end-users, to understand and deliver successful business solutions, including an exciting transformation programme and process improvement projects utilising new technologies. What we’re looking for: · Flexible, proactive individual with a quality assurance background. · A solid understanding of the software development process. · Excellent written, communications and consultancy skills. · The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. · Responsible person capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously. Desirable Skills: · Problem solving skills. · Exposure to legal or insurance industry. What you’ll be doing: · Provide System support to the business including recreating of system bug and accurate bug logging with third party system providers. · Work closely with the internal compliance department to ensure system documents are maintained and compliant. · Collaboratively work with IT and internal management to define project testing needs, test planning and desired outcomes, ensuring requirements are documented in a structured and auditable manner. · Work in unison with Third party software providers, internal software developers and department managers. Support other test team members as appropriate with testing related activities · Responsible for planning project testing phases, including writing and executing test plans and producing test defect and bug logs. · Responsible for the testing and QA of new software, including: Performance testing, functional testing and usability testing. · Provide objective, documented feedback to the Project Manager, and software development and project teams. · Communicate findings to technical and non-technical colleagues. · Ensure working practices, specifically planning, communication, implementation and delivery, are followed and supported. · Develop with IT and the business, recommendations on alternative approaches. · Work to strict deadlines to meet business requirements and expectations About Acorn Insurance: Acorn Insurance have over 30 years of experience helping people secure competitive car, taxi, van, motor trade and home insurance, across the UK.
