This is a part-time position (7 programmed activities) providing psychiatric care to adult inpatients and residents of at Cygnet Hospital Bierley. Bowling Ward at Cygnet Hospital Bierley is a 16 bed specialist service for women with highly complex needs associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder. The service aims to support service users to learn effective emotional management, to reduce emotional dysregulation and to manage their own mental health and recovery. The post holder will be the responsible clinician and will oversee and maintain the care of all ward inpatients as required. The post holder will also have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward and ensuring their good quality in accordance to GMC standards of good medical practice and other relevant professional guidelines. Moreover, the post holder will have responsibility for upholding the Company’s policies and procedures and protecting the Company’s interests as appropriate. The post holder will be responsible to the Hospital Manager at site and accountable to the Site Medical Director. The post holder will be supervised by the Site Medical Director on a minimum quarterly basis. As a fully registered member of the GMC, you will be a consultant with senior leadership experience in mental health. You will be required to provide strong, visible leadership in the provision of effective and high quality services for our low secure female ward and half of a locked acute admissions ward. You will be supported by vibrant, well-resourced multi-disciplinary teams, with an absolute focus on delivering superior patient care through a range of proven models of treatment. Candidate Profile: Full GMC Registration, Section 12 and AC Status Preferably experience within General Adult Psychiatry as well Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act MRCPsych or equivalent Ability to work alongside and lead a multidisciplinary team In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Legislation Knowledge of risk assessment and risk management principles Proven record of Continued Professional Development (CPD) Excellent communication skills You will participate in a 1:6 on call rota In return, we will offer you: Salary £150,000 pro rata NHS Discount Card Free meals Generous annual leave entitlement which increases with length of service CPD support, PDP programmes and study leave with funding support Active participation in clinical governance and allied support meetings Appraisal and revalidation support Opportunity to undertake further learning and development Medical indemnity cover Contributory pension scheme and free meals during working hours.
