Senior Support Worker Job Title: Senior Support Worker Location: Little Clacton Contract: Full time, Part time Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: £17,228.13 to £20,268.39 Information: This role is shift work. Driver, full UK driving licence, is desired not essential About the organisation: Our client is a charity that supports people with a learning disability. They want to demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society but they can't do this without you They need Senior Support Workers in Little Clacton to make their vision a reality. A bit about the role and background: As Senior Support Worker you will support two gentlemen in the Little Clacton area, the bungalows have been purpose built to meet their needs. Both gentleman are really keen to make the bungalows their own and use it as an opportunity to access their local community. Both gentleman have made plenty of plans for what they want to do once they move and our client are hoping to build a team to help them achieve these goals. One of the gentlemen is looking to access cooking classes and spend some time on the beach front. When at home he is very much in to his computer and games consoles, so if you share these interests it could be the perfect role for you. The other gentleman is looking forward to giving back to the community once he moves and has interest in finding a volunteer role. He loves going to the local greengrocer to pick out his fruit and veg for the week, he is not a fan of loud and busy places so small local shops are much preferred in his eyes. His big passion is travel though, for him it's not about the destination, it's how you get there. What does a Senior Support Worker do? Our client is looking for a full time/part time Senior Support Worker. The role of a Senior Support Worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with a learning disability isn't just personal care; it's so much more. A Senior Support Worker will do everything from taking the people supported to swimming to helping administer the right medication. They will also mentor Support Workers and assist with the overall health and safety. If you would like to know more details about the role please click the job description below. What experience do I need? Some previous experience in supported living is useful but it isn't a necessity. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you. You'll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is required and it is preferable that you have mentored others previously.
