Overview
Our client are a global leader in engineering and systems technology. They develop, enhance and protect clients’ systems, processes and critical assets to deliver technical solutions to challenging problems and support high value, high performance and safety critical projects. Due to expansion across the north-east, they are now looking to recruit for an experienced individual with extensive knowledge of plant life extension and asset integrity, with particular focus on the integrity of ageing assets. Responsibilities: Support clients in understanding the life, degradation, integrity and performance of components, systems and facilities from concept through to decommissioning Advise on the dynamics of mechanical components, systems, assets and facilities Provide insight on mathematical sciences – code assessment, fundamentals, CAE / FE Substantiate the design of novel products, systems and facilities, to investigate and resolve in-service problems or to extend the life of ageing assets Assist in growing the business in the North East Requirements: Degree in a relevant discipline At least three years of experience working in a related role in industry Past experience of working in a consultancy environment Demonstrable track record of understanding and assessing the condition of ageing assets and coming up with solutions Experience of design / assessment codes, plant operation, pressure vessel and pipe work Experience of toolsets such as FEA and CAD is also desirable Technical knowledge in the mechanical / structural engineering and sciences domain Computational analysis of mechanical structures Knowledge of the process and chemicals industry Taking technical leadership and project management responsibility for complex projects An understanding of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques and industry leading methods Experience of business development or working in a consultancy environment This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89610121
