We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, child-centred Residential Child Care Workers to help us look after children and young people who are not able to live at home, via a varied shift pattern including sleepovers. The role allows you to be involved in all aspects of the lives of children and young people as any parent would e.g. transporting them to school, college or appointments, making their home a clean, warm and cosy environment, cooking meals, and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies. Our children and young people often have experienced trauma and early years attachment difficulties. We need you to offer them understanding, through meaningful relationships aimed at keeping them safe and able to enjoy the world around them. We need people to listen to them and to take in to account their views, wishes and feelings. The role can be challenging and requires 'stickability’ especially when, at times, their behaviours show that they are unable to cope. However, the personal rewards are immense. WE OFFER: · A starting salary of £17,077 per annum based on 40hrs per week plus this includes a minimum of 1 sleepover per week.
