Software Engineer // £50,000 - £80,000 // Camden, London Pre-IPO start-up, Algorithm focussed, building Open Source tools across the sexiest sectors, solving some of the most challenging and interesting problems around data. You will be joining one of the best scaling start-ups to emerge in London recently – already past the point of scrambling for funding and clients. Working within a collaborative and ambitious team dedicated to the ‘why’ and ‘how’ platforms are engineered; you will be instrumental in guiding the vision and evolution for the already award-winning system. Already being used across AI, IoT, Life Sciences, Hyper-Personalisation, and Big Data, this open-source platform will see you gain recognition not only across the GitHub and Stackoverflow communities, but the problems you will be solving will encourage new ways of thinking across the worldwide engineering community. You will need to have come from an environment unrestricted to experimentation across languages. Handling Big Data and Distributed systems within a Cloud, CI/CD, and Clean Code/TDD environment. The ideal individual will have awareness not only from a development perspective but also able to own the build, deployment, release of your code straight into production (encouraging your peers on reviews as well). If you are striving for a position where you can be self-sufficient, influence a platform and work with Product, Engineering and Business teams to ensure aspects are at the forefront of innovation, then do not hesitate in applying Requirements: Passion for Open-Source and dedicated to experimentation Experience in JavaScript and ES6 libraries like Node.JS, Vue, React, Angular Understanding of OOP, functionality and concurrency with Relational Databases, NoSQL and Graph data storage Commercial experience of either Java, Python, Scala or C++ as an OOP language Experience developing Data Visualisations and Dashboard/Desktop applications Cloud Architecture with AWS including EC2, Lambda, S3 Experience working at Scale on resilience, reliability and vision of platforms – spanning multiple repositories CI/CD, TDD, Pair Programming and similar environments Bonus points: Interest in either Graph Computing, Database design systems, or Cognitive and Intelligent System design Core Technical Stack within the company: Java 8, Microservices, Spring Boot, ReactJS, NodeJS, VueJS, TypeScript, D3.JS, Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, Scala, JanusGraph, Google Cloud, AWS, EC2, Lambda, S3, Git, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, TDD/BDD, RDBS, This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89318987
