Overview
Transport Supervisor, Yate, South Gloucestershire Working for a small to medium sized transport company based in Yate, the Transport Supervisor will be responsible for leading the transport department together with the upkeep of records relating to the movement of goods or services on behalf of third party clients. The Transport Supervisor will have full control of the fleet of vehicles and drivers (12) including compliance of the entire fleet. Key Responsibilities: Lead and motivate the team of drivers delivering palletised goods both locally and within the UK Ensure compliance for the fleet Managing driver and vehicle infringements Responsible for defect reports MOT, VOSA inspections, vehicle insurance / tax Maintain driver licence checks Tachograph analysis Monitoring driver MPG and fuel consumption Manually planning vehicle routes Skills & Abilities required: Experience of working in and leading in a logistics environment, planning vehicle deliveries in the UK Understanding of transport legislation regarding vehicle weight limits and Drivers hours Computer literate with the ability to learn new systems Have excellent communication and customer relations skills, be effective in building relationships Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines Will need to be assertive with an outgoing nature, able to cope well in pressured situations Ability to multi task and prioritize own workload Excellent customer service skills, enabling good customer relations Demonstrable experience of leading people in successful teams.
