Overview
A large private equity backed company experiencing significant growth are looking for a Financial Controller to head up their accounting team based in Marlow. The role will incorporate a broad accounting and controls remit with a team of 11 staff. Responsibilities: Lead and drive efficient transactional process support Sustain a robust and effective internal control environment Ensure knowledge is transferred between team members for cross cover Ensure that the key performance indicators are met by effective delivery of the transactional processes Manage and deliver accurate statutory external and internal reporting requirements Recommend, implement and execute continuous process improvement initiatives Have responsibility for the performance management and development of 3 or 4 direct reports, plus overall responsibility for the leadership of a wider team The role will have ownership or a detailed involvement in the following areas: Accounts Payable & Receivable Payroll General Ledger reporting accuracy and bank reconciliations Capex reporting Cashflow reporting Online banking and banking governance Statutory reporting and taxation External Audit engagement Internal financial controls Month end processes/Internal Management reporting Balance sheet reconciliations & intracompany accounts Manage VAT, EC Sales and Intrastat returns Qualifications and Experience: Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) Experience of preparing statutory accounts and completion of tax returns (IFRS & UK GAAP) Experience of financial accounting department within a similar, relevant industry environment Proven team building and team leadership skills Detailed understanding of Account receivable and payable processes and KPI targets - understanding root cause issues and drive improvements Understanding of risk management and control and external audit process A sound understanding of the month end process. Ability to thrive within a fast-paced business environment.
