An award winning, leading manufacturing client based in the Bracknell area is looking for a Senior Procurement Specialist Manager to join their growing supply chain team as they enter an exciting phase of innovation. Senior Procurement Specialist This exciting opportunity will be about establishing new processes, implementing new procedures as well as ensuring strategic operations across their global supplier base. Reporting to the Global Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the entire operations across the procurement function, leading negotiations, sourcing and contracts. Other responsibilities include: Work across spend for direct categories- specifically chemicals Lead negotiations and achieve lowest costs possible for the business Agree targeted projects with global procurement category team and key category stakeholders, and define and lead project plan to enable agreed project requirements/targets Develop an understanding of the assigned category spend, the market for the products and services purchased, and identify the factors which influence availability Develop and implement sourcing strategies at global and regional level within the assigned categories of spend Collaborate with other procurement team members on a regional and global basis to identify synergies that will maximize strategic procurement initiatives. Demonstrate, lead and encourage best practice within the procurement process: vendor selection, specifications, tender & negotiation process/policy, business award, contracts implementation and maintenance etc. Manage category in alignment with value creation in mind: optimize total cost of ownership for category insights to stakeholders, efficiency and control, and ensure sufficient supply Senior Procurement Specialist Requirements: Degree Educated Experience with direct/indirect spend Ability to use SAP/MRP systems Demonstrated strategic planning, negotiation and influencing skills typically acquired through 5 or more years of experience in related roles with increasing levels of responsibility Ability to lead, manage and achieve targets Experience within a manufacturing environment desirable The business is looking for someone who has a real passion and flair for continuous improvement, development and achievement and is happy to interview candidates who can demonstrate this ability throughout their previous career.
