Overview
Central Employment are delighted to be working with a global manufacturing company who are looking to bring on board a Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of the business' inventory and supply chain managing stock and order products as required by the business. I'm looking for candidates who have experience dealing with European and Asian markets, experience within a purchasing function and an understanding of dealing with long lead times on products. Ideally, you will also have experience overseeing inventory audits and good experience with Management Information Systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a key role in shaping the future of the business. You will be responsible for tracking shipments for the Far East and Europe, negotiating with vendors, clients, and internal teams, increasing profitability for the business and optimising stock levels through excellent inventory management. Experience with supply chain operations with Far East based customers is essential for this role. Key Responsibilities Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock Order from Far East and European suppliers ensuring the timely delivery of products including lengthy lead times on specialist items Maintaining purchasing information ensuring accurate records in ERP Placing orders to keep maintain stock levels at all times Negotiate profitable deals with freight carriers (air & sea), parcel delivery couriers and address any transport issues Provide sales team with information on delivery times and prices for short notice deliveries Manage regular inventory audits in conjunction with the Operations Manager Arrange supplier visits to assess value for money and external supply chain process Essential Requirements Proven work experience in Stock Management and a buying/negotiating function Good understanding of end to end supply chain Demonstrable experience managing inventory audits Purchasing experience Experience of negotiating in Far East markets Desirable Requirements Experience using a stock management/inventory tool BSc in Logistics or Business related degree The Person Strong negotiating skills and vendor management Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders Strong organisation skills Good ability to provide improvements to the process
